10 Apr Daystar Kicks Off Saturday Service
Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, has held its first Saturday worship service aimed at relieving members an opportunity to worship conveniently.
According to the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, Pastor Kenny Folarin, announcing in March, the Saturday worship service will allow for the opportunity to access easy parking space which has been a matter of importance during the Sunday worship service.
“In God’s presence all days are the same with His favours and blessings. Our worship services are value-adding, life changing, transforming,”, he added.
The church which is currently running a five-shift service on Sunday had their maiden Saturday worship service for about one hour and thirty minutes, going through as it should with programming.
Although the attendance was around one-quarter of the normal Sunday service the worshippers were glad such services have begun in the church.
According to Naijachurchnews, one of the worshippers, Philomena said the Saturday worship was favorable to her.
She said, “I handle the IT issues for my firm and you could be called upon any time of the day, even Sundays. I don’t like it when I miss Sunday service. With the Saturday service, I think I am cool.”
For Seyi Johnson however, the Saturday Service can never be like the Sunday worship service he is used to.
“I am coming tomorrow (Sunday),you know the atmosphere, the people, and so on. I just came to have a taste of this. I love the service, especially the sermon, but you can’t compare it to the normal Sunday,” he said.
Speaking on the sermon topic, Christ, Our Passover, Sam Adeyemi, the senior pastor, reminded the worshippers that believers’ success can only be guaranteed by the blood of covenant. Citing Colossians 1:13.
He urged the audience to remain in oneness with God, with a new mindset of a true believer who has been redeemed “Your old mindset is a liability when you are in oneness with God. You will not lose any life battle again. You will see any challenge as opportunity for testimony. Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us”, he said.
